In the summer of the next year tours will resume on the territory of the “Luzhniki” sports complex. According to the official portal of the Moscow Mayor and Moscow Government, a new roof route will be offered to tourists.

“The choice of tours will be considerably extended. Certain programs will be devoted to the history of sports and Stalinist Classicism architecture. Besides, tourists will be able to learn a lot about the legendary Russian sportsmen with the help of educational quest-games. Extreme lovers will get a chance to explore the roof of the stadium,” reports the press office of the “Luzhniki”.

On the roof of the Large Sports Arena, the guests will enjoy magnificent views of Moscow. They will be able to observe the city center, Novodevichy Convent, Moscow City skyscrapers as well as Lomonosov Moscow State University, while a guide will accompany them on their way through the roof. A unique fall arrest system will ensure the security of all participants. The system is based on the professional fall protection principles, which have been adjusted to tourist needs.

Thrill-seekers will be offered an opportunity to descend to the Luzhnetskaya embankment via a zip-line system – a steel rope with special blocks secured by lobster clasps. The length of the rope is 170 meters. On the other end of the rope assistants will help the guests to undo the fasteners.

The reconstruction of the Big Sports Arena “Luzhniki” started in 2014. The project presupposes increasing the stadium capacity to 81 thousand seats. In 2018 the stadium will host the opening match, as well as one of the semi-finals and the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The new color of the stands – wine red sprinkled with gold – was selected in the result of an electronic voting in the “Active citizen” system, in which 137 thousand Moscow residents took part.

The “Luzhniki” playing ground will correspond to all modern requirements and FIFA technical recommendations. Under the stands there will be two training halls, dressing rooms for the sportsmen, office rooms, restaurants, guest service areas and lavatories.
